Best Content Consumed in 2025

I've deliberated over this list, but not really had time to write much more here.  Posting as is, and will update in the future if desired.

Pipistrello and the Cursed Yo-Yo is an adventure game for the switch, developed by Pocket Trap.  It evokes the GBA-era Zelda games, and in 2025, that makes it stand apart for me.  Many people may be turned off by the chunky pixels, but I think the fidelity of the art lends itself to the design.  The game charts a circuitous and complex route throughout the city, and every nook & cranny has a tiny secret to discover.  The game doesn't hide much from you - the real puzzle is *how* to achieve something specific, not where it might be hiding.   Highly recommend this Zelda-like.

Pretty into pico-8 right now as both consumer and developer.  Adamatomic's games in particular have been a huge source of inspiration.

Pokemon ZA Legends feels like the pokemon game I wanted when i was a kid - well, maybe with some less urban areas.
Kirby's Pinball Land probably got the lion's shhare of my gaming time in 2025.  It's great! Shoutout to Retroachievements for being a fun way to track progress.

Indiana Jones & The Great Circle was the game my wife and I played together the most.  Incredible, definitely recreates the magic of the films and scratches that stealthy open world itch for me.

Sanderson's Stormlight Literally spent most of the year re-reading these.  Great if you've got the time.

Oscar Zahn Great webcomic!  I stumbled upon the creator at my local comic expo and bought the TPB.  really fun, great art.

Helen of Wyndhorn really great comic series, full of unexpected bits.  manages to capture a vibe I always attribute to comic books that other media just don't match.

Palimpsest Stumbled upon this album doubling back to some Protest earlier in the year and WOW. it's great.  Incredible album to pull up lyrics for and just listen.  Great.
